چکیده

The water ingress plays an important role in building materials’ degradation. use of lightweight aggregates is interesting terms sustainability, because they reduce the density cement-based materials, among other advantages. development and new aggregates, such as cork granulates, a current research topic. In present work, performance sustainable mortars which combined expanded natural cements with slag, fly ash limestone has been studied. Mortars produced sand clay were also prepared. Bulk density, absorption, drying capacity gel capillary pores Tests carried out at 28 days 1 year. A good behavior generally observed when addition was incorporated to binder, especially slag or ash. Regarding non-standardized showed lower absorption volume permeable pore space long term than cork. At one year, had adequate compared those clay, may be due high small (100 nm–1 µm) mortars.

Eco-Friendly Natural Filler Based Epoxy Composites

In this study, acrylated soybean oil (AESO) was used as modifying agent for DGEBF-type epoxy resin (ER). AESO was used as a co-matrix in 50 wt % with ER. Composites with ecofriendly natural fillers-banana bark and seashell were prepared. MNA was used as a hardener. Effect of banana peel (BP) and seashell (SSh) fillers on mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and ...
